They're Gonna Miss Me!

As many of you know, I left my job on Friday. I thought I'd do a little something for them, because some of the girls there are very very sweet, so on Friday morning I brought in doughnuts for everyone.

Well, lo and behold, they planned a going away party for me! They even had a cake that said "Good Luck Becca" (After nearly two years no one has figured out that there are exactly zero C's in my first name). The boss couldn't make it, she wasn't in that day. But she called in and made sure that one of the girls in the office ran upstairs to her desk to bring down her contribution...

...A half eaten can of cashews.

So, that is what it means to be a valued employee!

  3. Let's give your boss the benefit of the doubt, maybe the person who ran upstairs, got the gifts mixed up. You were supposed to get the EMPTY can of nuts.
Move forward, and soon they will only be a memory.

  7. Hold onto the thought that they at least organized a going away party for you... (even if they spelt your name wrong)...

but now - you're rid of them! So, what lies ahead for you now then?

  8. So if you ever had any doubt that leaving your job was a bad idea, I think that it should've dissolved.

I agree with Lady Fi that it was thoughtful of them to give you a going away party. But spelling your name wrong? And a half-eaten tin of cashews? At least you have a good story to tell when you say "I made the right choice."
