I've Been a Busy Girl...

Ever since this fiasco went down, I vowed to make sure any further adventures in homebuying remain under wraps until they were a sure thing, and...well folks, in 23 days we are moving!

Please don't feel excluded, we didn't even tell our parents and family until this weekend. We were tired of the excitement of a good possibility and the inevitable let-down that followed. This time however, the timing, the house and the seller were are just right. Amen!
This is the current state of my dining room, yes I realize I am packing in Tidy Cat boxes, but those things were sturdy and free!

Now...who knows how to conceal this from the apartment complex? 'Cause there are quite a few of that type hole in the walls. Ahem...I blame Jaco and his distaste of bare walls.
I originally grabbed our toothpaste, which happens to be orange and citrusy, so that's a probably a no-go. PROBABLY.

  2. HURRAY! What a scoop (pardon the pun!) So - where are you moving to? Time to give us details, please...

Mmm.. toothpaste in the walls - probably not... How about poly-filler or blu-tack or chewing gum?

  3. Go to Lowes or Home Depot (who will become your best friend when buying a home) and get some DAP. Works like a charm! Congrats on the new home!

  5. Oh what excitement for the holidays, a new home! Congrats!

We lived in a duplex once. The dog scratched thru the first layer of cheap wood on the front door. We were very redneck. We gray taped it and repainted the door! But I don't suggest it for the walls!

  6. Congrats on the new house!! I hope you'll post pictures! Does this one require painting? I need someone to feel my painting hatred! :)

I got this stuff at Lowes that looks sort of like a tube of toothpaste and all you do is squirt it in the hole and smooth it out. It works really well and it's easy. I hated moving out of an apartment. I had a friend who when she moved out of her apartment, they wanted to take money out of her deposit because her over-the-range vent wasn't clean! Crazy!

I have no tips on the minor home repairs. I say duck out as fast as you can and feign ignorance!
