The Turkey Bowl

It has become sort of an informal tradition that after we gorge on turkey, stuffing, and the like, we go outside and play a little game of football.

What can I say, we like to tempt fate and try to move after a meal that large.

The skill level among the players varies immensely. There was Everett and Matt, who both played football in high school. Pretty early on in the game Ev either misjudged the girth of his ribcage OR he is secretly the blonde hulk. Could go either way.
You won't like me when I'm angry.
There was Brandon, who spent most of the game heckling me for my catching abilities, we'll cover this later in the post.

Then there was my very pregnant older sister, who may or may not be able to see her feet at this point.

There was Shawn(right there behind Emily), my cousin that I rarely see who just happens to be an incredible athlete. He was enjoying rubbing it in our faces. I mean...the kid can kick a football like Babe Ruth hits a baseball. He would say where it was going and sure enough, that is where it went.

Ashley joined in the fun. Would you look at that girl's hair? My word!
So close!

Then there was Branson, who was actually more interested in trying out his baseball slides than playing football.
The kid was a muddy, grass-stained, very happy mess.
Hmmm....does anyone else see the look my husband is giving me? Maybe it's because I catch like this...
Ahem.

I don't want to talk about it.

  10. Happy Birthday!!!

Your football game tradition looks like a lot of fun. Reminds me of when I was young. I have 8 cousins and every holiday we would get together and play football in my grandparent's front yard. Loads of fun!
