On our vacation we took one marvelous morning to charter a boat and head out into the bay to do some fishing. Now, this may surprise you, but I'm not much of a fisherperson.
I know, I know...WHAT? Bekah? Not like trying to get a wriggling minnow onto a hook? SHOCKING.
Lucky for me though, we had Captain Bill, who was more than willing to bait my line for me. I had caught several fish throughout the morning, and at one point I cast in my line and was surprised to feel a pretty decent tug almost immediately. I had been catching catfish all morning (NOT what we were going for, but I still thought it was fun), so I fully expected to see yet another 8-inch catfish on the end of my line.
Imagine my surprise when this emerged from the water!
Captain Bill helped me land the sucker, and even though he wasn't a big shark, I was pretty stinkin' impressed with my fishing skills.
And don't worry, despite the fact that I COULD have kept it, after a brief photo session, my shark was gently released back into the bay.
