The Numbers

6 - The number of teeth that make up Jack's smile.

2 - The number of teeth trying to work their way through his little swollen gums.

11 - The number of times Jack woke up last night.

3 - The number of Orajel tubes scattered strategically throughout the house.

2 - The number of frozen washcloths in the freezer for chewing.

3 - The number of onesies he has soaked with drool this morning.

Poor little dude is miserable!  Which, you know, makes for a really fun Monday.

Anyone out there have any more teething advice?  What works for you?  How do you help your little one get some relief?

  1. Maybe this is totally the obvious answer, but since you didn't mention it: Tylenol!

  3. We love Hyland's Teething Tablets. Also, we have an amber teething necklace for both kids. I am skeptical as to the science behind it but it did seem to work great for Leo and so far it makes a difference for Persephone too.

  4. Poor guy. Teething is the WORST.

We do two things. First, Motrin which is an anti-inflammatory, so it helps with the swelling and the pain together.
Second, we fill one of those mesh feeders with ice cubes. Jackson LOVES those--he can shove them into whatever area is bothering him, they've got a handle, and they're nice and hard, which I swear makes him feel better.

  5. Amazingly, Parker cut most of his teeth without incident. His bottom left molar gave us fits though...and we had success with Hylands teething tablets and ibuprofen. Just keep stuff around for him to chew on and it'll be over soon enough. I'm so sorry to hear that he's having a hard time with it.

  6. I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I don't have any advice for you. The good news is that the reason I don't have advice for you is because I can't remember Jared teething. Seriously, I don't remember the crying or the fever. I know we went through it but I can't remember the miserable parts. And you will forget them too!!
