Riddle Me This

I'm going to show you three items.  And I bet that a good portion of you will know exactly why and how these three items are related to each other.

Which means you will also know that we have made a big step from babyhood in the direction of childhood.  And I am feeling a little weepy.

  1. A still life that only mothers will get...

How's it going? We're down to just night and morning nursing, and I've not been able to give it up yet. Even though I kind of think I need to.

  2. Its rough. Due to a certain someone actually biting and drawing blood...we are going cold turkey. He doesnt need it, he barely even asks for it and when he does he is perfectly happy to have a cup of milk instead. It was really just me that was hanging on to it for sentimental reasons. So, he is fine, I am looking very voluptuous though.

  3. Even a daddy understands what these have in common. We're at 29 months now, and so past that phase, but I know my wife still misses the bonding part of breastfeeding. Hope the cabbage helps some with the physical side of it. We'll probably never stop missing her being a baby, but she's turned into a delightful toddler, so that makes up for it. A pleasure to meet you, btw.

  5. I know how hard this is, not only the physical pain, but the heartache too. I didn't EVER want to stop with Natalie, but I had to. Good luck to you :)

  6. We are doing the same thing, but I'm not going cold turkey. I'm not crazy!! We're down to twice a day and it's so hard. She still loves it and so do I. I keep wondering if I'm making the right decision. It's such an emotional thing!

  8. My son self weaned at 10 months of age and I was SO sad. Of course, he'd been putting up a fight since he was 8 months, so it was bordering on a relief. I missed it though, because it was the only time he would snuggle. I'm hoping my girl sticks with it longer! I absolutely love the closeness and bond that comes with it. Plugged ducts and all, it's the thing I will miss the most when it comes time to have no more babies. *sniff*

  9. hahaha....great post.

I "taught" a parenting class the other week and we got on the subject of breasts after delivery. I told them the trick and their jaws dropped. "You mean you don't eat it?"
