Trick or Treat

The next time I get a cock-a-mamie idea like making a cardboard Thomas the Train that fits over the double stroller the week before my sons birthday (and with a three week old to boot!) somebody remind me just how many times in the last week I muttered "I hate Thomas the Train" while slapping blue paint onto cardboard.

I never quite finished it...I had intended to have the front closed off, and I never got to make the yellow #1 for the side.  Oh well.  It is what it is! Jack loved it (see below for proof).

Oh what fun!
Luke was a lump of coal...but that lasted about thirty seconds before he decided it would be more fun to nurse and be held by Momma.

Who did our little conductor trick-or-treat with?? Check this out!

The Incredibles and Sandy and Danny from Grease!  Matt and I took part in the Train theme and were dressed as hobos...but we sadly didnt get any pictures of us all together.  My camera is acting really special, especially in the cold, so these pictures are all thanks to my sis.

It was a good time, but very hectic. I feel like I didn't even get to see Jack trick or treat.  Next year Luke will be older and hopefully we will be able to actually do some things with all four of us, instead of splintering into two sets of parent/child.

SO ANYWAY....that was Halloween 2011. I have some really cute pictures of the little Conductor to post, but that will have to wait until I can find my camera card reader.   If you can't tell from the overall tone of this post...I'm a tad frazzled at this point.

  1. Oh Bekah...it looks incredible. Hats off to you for taking on SO MUCH with a new baby. Let me give you a little advice from someone who WAS THAT PERSON long ago that had to do it all and do it over the top. It is not all that important in the grand scheme of things. It is ok to just go with whatever and not stress out over being so outstanding! Although I still am an over the top kind of person, truly I am, but I think back now at all I used to do and think/know it was not that important after all. Some things yes, other things not so much. Pick and choose....less stress that way...and that is what is most important...a less stressed parent.

Kuddos to you!! I love the train, you are very creative...much like I used to be!

  2. Go, Mama! I love it, but must admit I am still a little sad we didn't get to trick or treat together for the 2nd annual chili and candy night. Maybe next year it won't friggin snow. Maybe? Oh, and your mama is CRAZY wearing peep toe shoes with how cold it was!!!!! :)
