The Tot Olympics 2012

In honor of the London Games, my sister and I cooked up a fun day for our little ones.
The first event was a biggest splash contest.

The judges went wild! (Yes, my brother is holding up a "1", which is exactly why he was not given a scoring card to begin with)

Next up was water polo, but mostly they just splashed in the pool.  Still fun!
The little ones continued the match in the pool, while the older boys warmed up for the big footrace!
For a while it was a close race, but Emerson eked out a win in the end!
Sweet Victory!!  Next event - SHOTPUT.
Yes those are croquet balls and a spray paint court, but to a kid - this is serious stuff!

There was also a high jump somewhere in here, but I didn't manage to get any pictures of that event.  The last event was 'archery'.  We drew a chalk bulls eye on the patio and the three oldest kids attempted to break a water balloon in the center.  Little did we know, those balloons were tough! We eventually put rocks in the middle. which did the trick!
After archery, the littles lined up for the awards ceremony.  In a historical first, there was a four-way tie for gold! What are the chances?!
We had so much fun, it is amazing how cardboard and plastic medals can really make a little one's day!

Did you do anything to celebrate the closing of the 2012 Olympics?

  1. That is so cute! Looks like everyone had a blast, even the adults!

    1. P.S. I think your brother was jealous that he couldn't participate. He most likely would have lost anyway :P

  2. This is such a precious idea! I absolutely love it!

  3. Oh my gosh, what a great and fun idea! I bet they had a blast!!

  4. I heard all about the "Olympics" from Lucy the other day at your Aunt Sallys. Such a cute idea and the children are so, so cute!

  5. This is the cutest thing ever! I'm getting ready for a family vacation with my siblings and their children. I'm totally thinking Beach Olympics! Thanks for the idea!
