The party itself was a lot of fun, much more laid back then I am used too, simply because we didnt have to cart everything to a secondary location and then set it up. Matt and I did most of the decorating the night before, and since it was a camping party we simply put hot dogs in one crockpot, beans in another, and we were ready!!
Jack gave each of his kid guests a little thank-you goodie bag, which we filled with a flashlight and binoculars - gear that all true campers need!!
The dining room and kitchen were laid out with all of the food, although in retrospect I realize I didn't take a single picture of the kitchen. Ahh well.
We decked out the house with green balloons and streamers, and we even filled the tents with balloons as well. What tents you ask? Oh, the ones in our pine forest...
We borrowed fake Christmas trees from family in order to give our living room a little more of an outdoorsy feel! I was worried they would fall on someone - but no problems there!
Our 'menu' was hot dogs & baked beans, with lots of snacks thrown in there as well. Once our guests arrived, it was really just a matter of enjoying Jack's big day!
And let me tell ya, for as big as our living room is, 30 people will fill it up REAL fast!
After we ate, Jack tore through his gifts.
I missed most of this, because a certain little fella needed to go down for his nap. After that? S'MORES CUPCAKES!!
This was a recipe that my mom found for me, and they were SOOO good. I will definitely post it at a later date for you guys!
And yes, that is marshmallow buttercream icing. DELISH.
So once we got all of the kids hopped up on sugar, we took the party outside for some tee-ball (one of Jack's presents!)
It was chilly out, but none of the kids seemed to mind! They were all enjoying themselves in the backyard.
We played for a while longer, and then our party-goers had to head home.
Jack had so much fun at his camping party, and I gotta say - it was nice to not have to clean up a pavilion afterwards! Although - my house is kinda still a little bit trashed. Oh! And I did get one picture with Jack!
Gee - that's one for a frame.

Such a fun party, and cute cute decor!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! He had fun!
DeleteLove the idea of the tree's! & those cupcakes look delicious even though I'm not a fan of marshmallow. I'd still devour them though, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Im not a big fan of marshmallows on their own either, but this was goood!
