Feelin' the Power

(Dude.  I haven't blogged in a month.  Shame)

My sister and I share joint custody of a sweet little power- washer that my Dad passed on to us, and for the first time this weekend I busted it out.  It was AMAZING to watch the funk peel off of the house.
Our siding is in good shape, but like any house, over time it had accumulated a wee coating of pond scum.  Or whatever that green algae is.  Regardless...it was funky.  It was time.

Matt took the boys for ice cream so that I could have some alone time to get a little work done (I know that seems weird, but this is what is relaxing to me), so I hooked it up and got to spraying!

I'm telling you, if you have never power-washed and you like instant gratification, you gotta try it! The scum just peels right off of the siding.  And then afterwards, you step back and look at your shiny little house and think...
...I wonder what else I can power-wash? I'm thinking of offering up my services to the neighborhood  :)

  1. Sign me up! Also, I love the squirt guns in the foreground. It sort of looks like your dad duped you into believing you were being given a 'power washer.' :)

Also, I've not blogged for even longer. Too busy living life to write about it. :)

  2. That's a heck of a difference! When we moved in to our place, some ivy had started to grow up one side of it and it's amazing how hard it is to get that stuff off of there.

  3. So jealous! We have Bob's Dad's old power washer, but it doesn't work. So it's like a tease. We've pulled it out at least three times this Summer and attempted to get it to work (the one hose doesn't connect correctly).
The siding looks brand new now! Good job!! :D

  8. Power washing is amazing. We did it over the weekend, and just doing the wooden steps was awesome. I can't wait until we do the back of the house where the patio and larger wooden stairs are!

  9. I LOVE our pressure-washer. It's my favorite tool. And you're right- it's perfect for people who need instant gratification.
